空調技術不斷更新,由於環保和製冷量的共同需求,在製冷劑方麵也在不斷更新新產品。空調早期使用的製冷劑為R22,由於R22對大氣臭氧層有較大的破壞,於是又出現了R410A製冷劑。

繼R410A以後,人類又發明了R290製冷劑,它是直接從液化氣中提取,相對於合成的製冷劑,器成本較低。又因為真正環保無氟,所以使用量很大。但在使用中又發現R290有易燃易爆的致命缺點,於是人們開始研究更安全環保的空調製冷劑來替代R22。
